Monarch Quantum: Launching a quantum technology company at lightspeed

Project background

Monarch Quantum is a newly founded company in the quantum technology space. When they approached Stryve, they had no branding, marketing collateral, or digital presence, and their product was not yet in physical production. They were looking to establish credibility with investors, partners, and early customers in a highly technical, competitive industry.

The company needed to launch to secure funding and make their business tangible. Stryve was brought in to craft a professional, cohesive brand identity, develop a full suite of marketing collateral, and design a launch-ready MVP website that would give Monarch a credible and polished presence from day one. And all this needed to be done in a few short months, in time for a launch event.

The Mission

Stryve’s mission was to bring Monarch Quantum to life through branding, collateral, and a digital presence. The goal was to:

  • Establish credibility and trust with senior technical and business decision-makers
  • Create a professional, differentiated identity in a competitive, technical category
  • Deliver a cohesive set of visual assets that could be used across all touchpoints
  • Build a digital foundation that communicates the company’s story, even without physical products
  • Enable market entry, support fundraising efforts and talent attraction

In short, to make Monarch Quantum feel real, professional, and investable from day one.

Phase 1: Logo & brand guidelines

Monarch came to Stryve with clear goals for their brand identity. They wanted a look that communicated quantum at scale, conveyed integrity and trust, and felt stable, reliable, and precise. At the same time, they wanted to stand out from competitors with a modern, professional, and slightly softer, more feminine aesthetic that still expressed innovation and leadership. Essentially, a brand that felt like the “Apple of the quantum industry” and captured an intelligent, confident, Hermione Granger-like energy. The colour palette was guided by blues for trust and reliability, which were complemented by warm oranges and red accents for energy and approachability, and to tie in the monarch butterfly theme.

Logo exploration and concept development

We worked closely with Monarch to explore multiple logo concepts. Rather than presenting a single idea, we developed 4 logo concepts rooted in Monarch’s themes of transformation, quantum science, and momentum. This gave the team space to react not just to a logo, but to how Monarch could visually express credibility, innovation, and growth.

Each concept balanced science and symbolism in a different way. Some leaned into atomic structures and entanglement to reflect Monarch’s technical foundation, while others emphasized the butterfly as a metaphor for evolution and movement. We explored shape based and line based executions, abstract uses of the “M,” and orbiting forms inspired by electron paths to test how precision and approachability could coexist.

Together, the concepts offered a range of visual directions before aligning on the strongest foundation. The result was a logo that is not only visually strong, but strategically grounded, capturing Monarch Quantum’s story of transformation, motion, and innovation.

Refined logo & rationale

In the chosen logo, the overlapping butterfly wings symbolized transformation, scale, and quantum entanglement, while the combination of sharp and soft edges reflected precision alongside approachability. Typography was chosen to harmonize with the icon, creating a cohesive, confident, and professional wordmark. Once finalized, the logo, color palette, typography, and supporting design rules were consolidated into comprehensive brand guidelines, establishing a solid foundation for all future brand and marketing work.

Phase 2: Marketing collateral

With the brand identity established, we translated it into a full suite of foundational marketing collateral. Business cards, email signatures, letterheads, and presentation templates were created along with social media templates, profile banners, and graphics that extended the logo’s overlapping motif. Custom icons and patterned backgrounds reflect the concepts of entanglement and growth, reinforcing the brand visually across channels.

This system of assets allowed Monarch to communicate consistently and professionally from day one, providing them with tools to engage partners, potential candidates, and early audiences confidently.

Phase 3: MVP website

The two-page MVP website was designed to make Monarch Quantum tangible and credible. Without physical products to photograph, the site leaned on iconography, patterned backgrounds, and selective stock imagery to convey the technical sophistication and reliability of the brand. The WordPress Block Editor was implemented with reusable patterns, allowing Monarch’s team to easily maintain and evolve the site over time. Layouts and messaging hierarchy were crafted to explain complex quantum offerings clearly, reinforcing credibility while presenting a polished, professional, and approachable digital presence. The site effectively communicated the company’s story and positioned them for successful fundraising and early market engagement.

Through iterative, strategic design and execution, Stryve helped Monarch Quantum establish a professional and differentiated brand in a highly technical market. They launched a full suite of marketing collateral and a digital presence that made the company feel tangible, polished, and ready to engage investors and partners. The brand and website together formed a scalable foundation that Monarch can continue to build upon as the company grows.

Impact

Stryve provided Monarch Quantum with a complete and cohesive look and feel, effectively breathing life into what had only been a name and a concept. As a brand-new business without any branding, marketing collateral, or digital presence, Monarch needed to go to market quickly to secure funding. We brought the company to life creating a tangible, differentiated presence that made the business feel real and credible.

With a polished digital home, a professional logo, and foundational brand assets at the ready, Monarch was announced in December 2025 and debuted at SPIE Photonics West 2026. In their first month after launching, they grew their team to over 50 people and saw more than 3,300 users visit their website.

We’re proud to be their first official vendor and continue to partner with them on their next steps in growing their business.
