Toronto, Canada— June 16, 2011 — LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network with more than 100 million members, today celebrates the first anniversary of its Canadian operations. LinkedIn also announced that Brian Church is LinkedIn’s new Canadian country manager.

As LinkedIn’s Canadian country manager, Church will continue to grow LinkedIn’s three lines of business – member subscriptions, marketing solutions and hiring solutions – in Canada. Church will also increase the awareness and adoption of LinkedIn in Canada by focusing on user engagement, strategic partnerships, marketing and general operations.

“We’ve heard phenomenal success stories from both our Canadian members and our enterprise customers this past year,” said Church. “In my new role with the company, I look forward to expanding LinkedIn’s presence across Canada. Our goal is to ensure that Canadians understand the benefits LinkedIn offers to both individual members and businesses.”

Prior to being promoted to this role, Church was LinkedIn Canada’s director of hiring solutions for almost a year. Church brings more than 13 years of sales experience to his new role. He previously held management and sales positions with Google Canada, Oracle and SAP.

To date, more than three million Canadian professionals use LinkedIn to build and maintain their professional identity online, make connections, get business insights and discover new opportunities.

“LinkedIn has directly affected the growth of our business and our sales leads,” said Sourov De, managing partner of Stryve Group and a LinkedIn member based in Kitchener, Ont. “As the founder of the Social Media Marketing Canada LinkedIn Group, I’ve been able to meet like-minded Canadian professionals, network with prospective clients and position myself as an expert in an impactful way.”

LinkedIn has more than 300 Canadian customers. Employers such as The Home Depot, Sandvine and SNC-Lavalin are successfully using LinkedIn’s hiring solutions to recruit top talent in Canada. Dynamic Funds and Microsoft Canada are examples of companies in Canada that are using LinkedIn’s marketing solutions to reach influential decision-makers.
